If you are the person who acts as the patient's advocate, crusader, or voice - this website is for YOU.
Taking on the role of a patient advocate means there is a lot of important and challenging work to be done. And all for good reason – you want your loved one to get the best care possible. But how does one person accomplish all of this and stay sane?
Well for starters, you shouldn't try to advocate for a patient all on your own. You need support just as much as the patient. That is where Badass Advocate comes in. We are here to support YOU.
Let me tell you how this website can help…
First, if you'd like to know more about my story click on My Story. You can see that I've been in a similar situation as you are now. Of course, no two stories are alike but I can empathize with what you are experiencing. I hope I can further support you by sharing what I have learned along the way…
You will definitely want to check out the Resources tab. Here you will find both useful downloads and reliable links. The downloads section includes free PDFs to help you strategically advocate. Scan down further and you will find a list of reliable websites. These websites are VERY useful for any patient advocate. Again, some will be more helpful than others depending upon your situation. I recommend thumbing through various links to see what you can use to your advantage.
If you haven't read my book Badass Advocate click here or head to the Book page. In the book, I share 8 badass strategies to help you become a Badass Advocate. Plus, you can continue to use Badass Advocate as a guidebook as your caregiving journey continues.
Last, I have a Blog page where I will continue to share content. Not every tip I have made the book so I want to continue to share these with you. I also have had multiple caregivers and patients reach out to me with their own tips and ideas. We will be posting guest blogs here as well so you can continue to learn from their experiences. I don't claim to have all the answers so hearing from others will only make us a more badass community. If you would like to share something you think would be beneficial to other patient advocates, please reach out to me by clicking here.
I understand that being an advocate can be a challenging and thankless job. I'm here to THANK YOU for all that you do for your sick loved one and encourage you to keep going. I understand that some days are harder than others. Just know we are here to support you in your journey in becoming a Badass Advocate!
